Grimersta Cairn in the Snow
12th January
Photographer Lewis Mackenzie describes this atmospheric image taken just last week:
“Taken on Friday in the freeze, late afternoon when the light was that surreal orange, reflecting off the snow and ice on the ground. [It was] taken from above the Grimersta Number 1 Loch, looking towards Roineval, South Lochs to the North [and] Eishken to the South.
When you think every stone on the Cairn was put there by someone over years and years – lots of history, people, their lives and stories are reflected in this picture.”
The Harris Tweed® cloth pictured – Grey Rabbit and Ice Maple herringbone – is woven by Seaforth Harris Tweed.
