Harris Tweed® scarves backed with luscious silk velvets, Liberty Tana lawns, silk dupions and uniquely designed map fabrics.

Helen’s collection of Harris Tweed® scarves was launched in 2008, starting with the tweed and velvet scarves. Her skinny Harris Tweed® scarves were launched in 2009. The scarves are lined with beautiful silk velvets in stunning combinations. The skinny scarves are backed with Liberty Tana Lawn cotton. The pairing of the fabrics produces a beautiful scarf, and the cottons and velvets are soft against the neck for the less hardy!

The Harris Tweed® range has proved extremely popular and Helen has undertaken commissions for galleries, including the National Galleries of Scotland. She also makes a bespoke range for the British Museum. Her work can be seen in shops and galleries in the UK, Europe and America.

Helen sews and designs in Liverpool helped by Hester in Edinburgh who does marketing, social media, anything that doesn’t require a sewing machine.

“I love working with Harris Tweed® for a number of reasons. Obviously, the colours, colour matching and patterns are second to none. The intricacies of each fibre when woven together produce the most beautiful fabric to look at and work with. The colours make choosing the backing fabrics an absolute delight.

Then there is the feel of it: there is nothing like cutting into a piece of Harris Tweed® cloth – the drape, weight, texture and quality is a delight to work with, and it sews together beautifully, even with silk velvet! I also love and appreciate the heritage behind the product, the individual weavers, the [mills] and the whole story. My customers love this too, and they also love the Harris Tweed® label.”
