Harris Tweed® Fabric Bank | Series: Part 1

2nd November

In our new series, the Harris Tweed Authority are going to focus on some of our successful Fabric Bank applicants from years gone by.

The Harris Tweed® Fabric Bank launched in 2013/14 as a means for full-time students in their final year of accredited Further or Higher Education courses in fashion, textiles or weave related disciplines, to apply for Harris Tweed® cloth to contribute towards their course work or end-of-year shows.

The Harris Tweed Authority Educational Trust have thoroughly enjoyed offering this opportunity to design students to allow them the chance to work with the world-famous Clò Mòr. While this year’s application deadline has passed, we will be running it again in 2023 and will announce when it has opened for fresh applications.

These kilt designs from Siobhan Mackenzie and jackets by Joanna Latarska from 2014 not only showcase their exceptional skillsets, but also the versatility of the cloth.
