Maude at the Mòd

19th October

The Harris Tweed Authority’s very own Maude flew away on Monday to spend the week at Am Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail (the Royal National Mòd) in Perth, looking resplendent in her new Harris Tweed® outfit.

This fabric was commissioned to celebrate the Stornoway Mòd in 2016, so it was only fitting that Maude dressed to impress for her arrival!

After seeing the sights on day one, Maude spent a fantastic second day hanging out with the Nicolson Institute choir. You can see Maude’s beautiful matching Harris Tweed® purse she took for the trip being professionally modelled by some of the boys and girls.

A massive well done from all of us here at the Harris Tweed Authority to the Stornoway-based choir also – they sang brilliantly and finished 2nd in both the Choral Unison Open 13-18 and the Choral Puirt-à-Beul Open 13-18 competitions.

Maude celebrated with the choir at dinner on Tuesday but (as you can see in the last photo) it led to an early night!
