The Harris Tweed® Journal

Problem solving…

23rd August

Anne Campbell, born and raised in the village of Bragar on the west side of the Isle of Lewis, has a rich history with Harris Tweed. After studying Art in Edinburgh, she returned to the Hebrides and made her home on the Isle of Harris, where she settled and started working with Marion Campbell of Plocropool.

During this time, Anne learned to weave on a Beart Mhòr, and went on to restore an original wooden loom from the village of Lingerbay.

While working with Marion, she meticulously took notes in a book, capturing invaluable insights and techniques.

This week, Anne visited the Story Room with that very notebook, helping us solve a problem with our own Beart Mhòr. Thank you, Anne, for sharing your wisdom with us!
