30th November

Happy St. Andrew’s Day!

Saint Andrew officially became Scotland’s patron saint in 1320 and St. Andrew’s Day (‘Là Naomh Anndrais‘ in Gaelic) is celebrated on the 30th of November each year by Scottish people the world over.

Other countries that have Andrew the Apostle as their patron Saint include Barbados, Georgia, Greece, Poland, Romania and Ukraine as well as the Spanish island of Tenerife and Amalfi in Italy.
